This Alf Shields replica was built after the origional was built by Mr Alf Shields until it was lost in the late 1950's. The origional Shields Special was driven by a number of South Australian drivers including Wally Watson, Rex Sendy, Rick Harvey, Tut Hogan, Peter DeMack and Alan Golding etc: This replica was built to the 1948 specs as driven by Wally Watson including Amilcar chassis and front axel and hubs, A & B model engines, Ford multiplate clutch, T model differential and a hand beaten aluminium body.
